LA's Best After School Enrichment Program was established by Mayor Bradley in 1988 to provide safe and supervised after school education, enrichment and recreation for underprivileged elementary school children. It is a unique partnership including the City of Los Angeles, LAUSD and the private sector.
Since 2005 Barnsdall Arts has been working with the After School Arts Program division to serve students in Title One elementary schools with an innovative, creative introduction to arts education. The ASAP residencies consist of forty hours of after-school arts classes over a ten week residency. With the cutbacks in arts education throughout the school system ASAP offers an extraordinary opportunity for students to explore and experience the arts.
Barnsdall Arts has worked at numerous sites throughout the city and is proud to contribute to the ongoing success of this valuable program with its high quality curricula and outstanding teachers.
