Lita Albuquerque conceived the self portrait project and masterfully taught eighteen talented young artists ranging in age from 11 to 17 to explore their inner and outer selves in drawings, paintings, prints, a mirror painting and a box.
For more than three decades, Barnsdall Arts/Friends of the Junior Arts Center has been committed to providing outstanding, affordable arts education programs to young people both on site at Barnsdall Art Park and in extensive outreach. With your help, we continue to develop and administer an impressive array of core programs, distinguished by excellence, imagination and rigor. We currently reach over 8,000 children annually with our art programs.
The quality of our work has received the highest praise and recognition.The LACAC called Barnsdall Arts a "jewel in the crown of Los Angeles."
